'رابرت گیتس' وزیر دفاع وقت و 'دونالد رامسفلد' وزیر سابق دفاع این كشور نیز در این شكایت متهم شدند كه نهاد تحت مدیریت آنها خشونت ضد زنان و تجاوز به آن‌ها را پذیرفته و این اقدام‌ها را تنها نظاره می‌كند.

آمارهای رسمی دولت آمریكا نشانگر آن است كه از هر سه زن در ارتش این كشور یكی هدف تجاوز به عنف نظامیان قرار می‌گیرد. حتی در این مورد كتابی هم با عنوان 'تجاوز به عنف دشمن خودی' انتشار یافته است. این كتاب داستان تكان دهنده زنان نظامی را شرح می دهد كه قربانی سواستفاده جنسی همرزمان آمریكایی خود شده‌اند.

تارنمای شبكه خبری سی بی اس نیز در 18 مارس 2009 در مطلبی با عنوان 'گسترش تجاوزهای جنسی در نیروهای نظامی آمریكا' می نویسد: قربانیان(تجاوز در ارتش آمریكا) امیدی برای رسیدگی واقعی به پرونده خود را ندارند، چراكه بیشتر موارد نادیده گرفته می‌شوند. برپایه آمار پنتاگون در سال 2006 میلادی، نزدیك 2974 مورد تجاوز گزارش شده است كه تنها 292 مورد از آن‌ها بررسی شده و تعداد ناچیزی از متهمان به شكل جدی جریمه شده‌اند. مجازات‌ها و جرایم متناسب با جرم نیست و ممكن است، محكوم شدگان تنها تنزل درجه پیدا كرده و یا میزان ناچیزی از حقوقشان كم شود. هم‌چنین قربانیان به دلیل ترس از تمسخر، آزار و اذیت بیشتر، جرات گزارش دادن ندارند.

روزنامه نیویورك تایمز هم در اواسط مارس 2012 در سر مقاله ای اعلام كرد كه 65 درصد زنان ارتش آمریكا مورد تجاوز جنسی قرار می گیرند.

نیویورك تایمز با بررسی بحث تجاوز به زنان در ارتش آمریكا و اظهارات 'لئون پانه تا' وزیر دفاع این كشور نوشت كه این مساله چندسالی است به یك معضل و چالش اساسی برای وزارت دفاع آمریكا تبدیل شده است.

این روزنامه در آغاز آمار تكان دهنده ای از تجاوز به زنان در جامعه آمریكا ارایه كرده و می نویسد: 'آمار خشونت و تجاوز علیه زنان جامعه همچنان بالاست و به طور میانگین تخمین زده می شود كه 17 درصد از آنها قربانی تجاوزگری ها هستند.'

سپس با اشاره به گسترش روزافزون آمار آزار و اذیت جنسی زنان در ارتش، می افزاید: 'در سال 2006 بین 23 تا 33 درصد از زنان ارتش آمریكا مورد تجاوز قرار گرفته بودند، اما آمارهای اخیر پنتاگون پیرامون آزار و اذیت جنسی در سال 2010 تا 2011 عدد 65 درصد را نشان می دهد كه نشان از رشد عجیب آن است.'

در همین رابطه سایت اینترنتی بوستون گلوب در خبری در 18 اسفند 1390 گزارش داد كه 8 زن ارتش آمریكا كه مورد تجاوز، آزار جنسی و بدرفتاری قرار گرفته اند، در این خصوص اقامه دعوی كرده اند.

برپایه این گزارش، شكایت نامه این زنان در دادگاه محلی آمریكا در واشنگتن ارایه شد و در آن مقام های عالی آمریكا از جمله پانتا، گیتس و رامسفلد به فرار از رسیدگی به این موضوع متهم شده اند. از میان این هشت زن كه در نیروی دریایی آمریكا به خدمت پرداخته اند، هفت تن در اتاقی در پایگاه هوایی- دریایی فلوریدا مورد تجاوز قرار گرفته اند و هشتمین نفر زمانی كه در عراق مشغول خدمت بود مورد تعرض قرار گرفته است. در ادامه آمده است كه این زنان اكنون با افسردگی، نگرانی و بیماری های روانی دست و پنجه نرم می كنند.

در این گزارش به نقل از ریچارد بكر یك فعال ضد جنگ آمریكایی آمده است: 'نظامیان زن در ارتش آمریكا با سختی های خاص خودشان مواجه هستند. آنها در ارتش هدف آزار و اذیتهای جنسی قرار می گیرند. البته این مشكل فقط برای زنان حاضر در ارتش آمریكا نیست بلكه زنان در جامعه آمریكا نیز با چنین مشكلاتی مواجه هستند. فرهنگ آزار و اذیت زنان در ارتش آمریكا نهادینه شده است و مقامات مافوق نظامی كه این كار را انجام می دهند با مصونیت می توانند هركاری كه می خواهند بكنند بدون آنكه عواقبی متوجه آنها باشد. زنان نظامی حاضر در ارتش آمریكا شبها به شدت می ترسند، زیرا از این بیم دارند كه به آنها تعرض جنسی شود.

مدیر گروه محیط زیست و مطالعات میدانی پژوهشكده هیدرولیك و محیط‌های آبی موسسه تحقیقات آب درخصوص اقدامات انجام شده در راستای اجرای این پروژه اظهار داشت: برای اجرای این پروژه تجهیزات ثبات اندازه‌گیری مانند جریان‌ لایه‌ای ، كدورت‌ سنج و جریان‌ سنج نقطه‌ای در ایستگاه‌های مختلف مخزن سد و در پایین ترین خط مخزن (‌خط‌ القعر) سد نصب شد كه در زمان ‌های وقوع سیلاب در كنار دستگاه‌ها ، نمونه ‌برداری بار معلق انجام و ضخامت لایه جریان و غلظت آن تعیین شود.

وی با اشاره به نتایج حاصل شده از اجرای پروژه اندازه‌گیری میدانی ردیابی جریان غلیظ در مخزن سد مارون گفت: تاكنون موفق به ردیابی 2 سیلاب همراه با نمونه‌برداری هم زمان شده‌ایم كه با بررسی و آنالیز داده‌ها،‌ نتایج آن ارائه خواهد شد.
